  • Septoplasty (nasal septum correction)

    Septoplasty is a surgical procedure to straighten the nasal septum. The aim is to improve nasal breathing by correcting a curvature or misalignment of the cartilaginous and bony parts of the nasal septum.

    Typical reasons for septoplasty are:

    • Impeded nasal breathing: Patients with a deviated nasal septum have difficulty breathing through their nose, which can lead to mouth breathing and snoring.

    • Frequent sinus infections: A deviated septum can impede the drainage of nasal secretions, which promotes inflammation of the sinuses.

    • Snoring: Restricted nasal breathing can lead to snoring, as the air flows more strongly past the soft tissues in the throat when inhaling.
  • Rhinoplasty (nose correction)

Nasal cavity/sinuses:

  • Endonasal procedures for chronic sinusitis and sinus polyps = FESS

    • FESS (functional endoscopic sinus surgery) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic sinusitis or other problems with the sinuses. The aim is to improve ventilation and drainage of secretions in the sinuses by widening narrowed or blocked areas.
